Description

It is a popular request amongst today’s brides, for various reasons. Some couples want to cut costs and fit with their budget, whilst others plan to do their own album.

It is an interesting topic amongst professional photographers, with high quality studios holding onto the original copies of their work through to the budget package photographers where a photo disk is standard practice. It can be extremely confusing as a consumer to know what to expect to pay, and how to trust that you have chosen a quality photographer.

Research research research! And read reputable bridal magazine & websites articles & tips. Visit photographers from across the price ranges and see for yourself. How did they present their work, what was their image quality like, how did you feel about the studio – remember, your spending the largest part of your day with your photographer, so don’t choose purely based on dollars.

You get what you pay for.

Back to the topic of discussion, why are you choosing a disk only package? When asked 12 months post wedding “what have you done with your disk”? Most brides, even those who planned to DIY their album say – nothing! Married life gets busy, and it becomes the non –urgent project put on the back burner.

How reliable is having your images on disk?

With risk of scratching (Actually, fingerprints and smudges can do just as much damage as scratches), temperature & humidity changes, quality of the actual media or CD/DVD rot (Including delamination and oxidation).

It’s scary to think your precious memories could be so easily gone, forever!

That’s why I recommend all of your wedding memories be printed and bound as a hard copy album. It not only presents your special day in all its glory as a treasured testament & legacy of your marriage, but guarantees that the images will actually still be around for your children, grandchildren and beyond to pour over and enjoy.

If you didn’t have the cash at the time of your wedding, most photographers do offer this service for returning brides, or you may find a variety of online options. Including budget coffee table books, stick in albums or now professional albums designed & crafted, direct to your door.

Whether you choose a premium album or decide to finally DIY – we can’t stress enough how important it is to print your photographs.
