Colours, graphics and pocket invitations are some of 2008’s hottest trends in wedding stationery, says Shannon Harcourt from Little Flamingo Stationery+Events.
Express your personality through colour and compliment your wedding theme through papers, embellishments and bright coloured fonts. All shades of white and ivory are timeless with many couples combining this with a monochromatic colour scheme to create a contemporary look to their wedding invitations.
With so many couples inviting interstate and overseas guests, direction/map cards and accommodation cards are also becoming more popular as are save the date cards and online RSVP’s.
Another hot trend is the pocket or portfolio invitation. With this style of invitation, all of the different elements – response card, reception card etc fit neatly into the pocket portion of the invitation. This looks elegant and makes it less likely for any of the pieces to become lost.
Invitations set the tone, mood and theme for your wedding so it’s worth putting in time and money to select sensational stationery that best reflects your unique celebration.
