START AT THE VERY BEGINNING!!! its a very good place to start.......
Ask around friends & relatives who are married & get some feedback on the flowers that they had. Why they chose them, have a look at their pictures.
GET THE BASICS RIGHT!
When you contact a supplier, have an idea of the type of flowers you like. If you’re not sure, they may have photos of past weddings they have completed & also samples from other florists that you can look through to start this thought process.
Tell the supplier a bit about your wedding, for example, the style, the venue, but more importantly the style of dress you’re having.
The supplier will be able to get an idea of your personality and style of wedding. From this information the supplier will be able to start giving you lots of wedding flower ideas, including the types of arrangements and flowers that will suit your day.
HAVE A LOOK AT PREVIOUS WORK!!!
Any good wedding florist will have a wedding book with examples of their wedding creations. By viewing this you’ll get a quick idea of their style. I highly recommend speaking with a number of different florists; mostly to get the feel of what you are after. Like anything, the more you look into the 'subject' the more you understand it & you will feel more comfortable when it comes to finally saying 'YES, that is exactly what I want"
ASK PLENTY OF QUESTIONS!!
It will help you with your decision as well as give you lots more wedding flower ideas. Here’s a list of questions to consider:
My favourite flower is XXXX, is this suitable for my bouquet?
Is it possible to match the colour of the flowers to my dress?
Is it possible to match them to the bridesmaid’s dresses?
What flowers are in season?
Which flowers are the best value?
Do those flowers preserve well?
I have $XXX to spend, what would you recommend?
Have you got any suggestions for the reception flowers?
How many arrangements do I need for the reception?
Do you deliver the flowers?
When would you deliver the flowers?
How should I preserve the flowers?
I hope this helps a little with your decision making....
