Description

The most common wedding centrepieces are flowers - beautiful but often expensive. Candlelight creates great atmosphere but can be plain if not done well.

Some tips to ensure your wedding tables and centrepieces really "wow" your guests.

1) Speak to your reception venue and review the options they have, but please don't leave it at that.

It is worthwhile and often cost-saving to speak to your wedding venue about the options they have available. Remember, venue-provided decorations will have been used many times so it is worth checking the quality. Check there are no additional costs associated with using these items - breakages, candle replacement or hire fees. Think about what additions you can make to achieve a unique look.

2) Consider the wedding location, and create a consistent look and feel.
Are you getting married by the beach or at a waterside venue? Would sand, shells or pebbles be useful? What is the colour scheme of the venue? Wat time of year is it? Will there be autumn leaves about or snow? How can you incorporate these into your table designs?

3) Your own colour scheme and preferences to create a personal theme.
Most important is your own choice of colours, flowers and designs. Keeping a theme from invitations right through to your table designs is important with all events. What flowers will be in your bouquet? What colour is your invitation?

With these three things in mind, you can easily personalise your day! All it takes is a little research and creative thinking ....

IDEAS

What paper will be on your invitations? Can this paper also form a centrepiece base?

Instead of a floral arrangement, consider bowls with single flowers and candles around it

Consider using a photo you or a friend has taken of a partiular flower on your invitation, order of service, menu and place cards. A photo can be more effective than a printed design.

Do you have a favourite sweet? Use that as your bomboniere.

Incorporate your table centrepiece and bomboniere for an extra special gift that will really create a memory of your day.

Use ribbon table runners and paper place mats

.....

Create a personalised table design or use an existing one, and don't forget the white umbrellas - just in case!
