The key to success for a beach theme wedding is simplicity. What makes beach weddings so appealing is the fact that they create a unique ambience - simple, classy and fresh.
Your reception should avoid the use of too many different style beach themed decorations. Choose one theme and stick with it.
In recent years, frangipanis have become all the trend, but this does not mean they cannot still bring a classy, beach theme to your reception. Why not opt for a simple white table top. Purchase blue glass stones or river pebbles. Either scatter them across a white table runner or over a rectangle white dish. Buy some frangipani flower heads (purchase online foam or synthetic, the wires stem ones make for easy positioning of flowers) and place three or so on top of the pebbles. Add in some clear tea light cases or if using the blue glass stones, add in some blue glass tea light cases. This is a perfect, not too costly centre piece. The candlelight adds the elegance and the frangtipanis and stones offer the beach theme.
Another option may be to purchase beach themed candle holders or tea light cases and use these as the centrepiece. If you purchase a candle holder, opt for white or another very neutral, beachy colour. Consider scattering a few frangipani heads at the base of the candle holders for a touch of colour. You can purchase the frangipanis in a range of colours, not just your typical yellow and white, so you are sure to find a colour to suit the rest of your wedding. With this option, as the centrepiece is very plain, you can then opt to use matching place card holders to continue the theme without overdoing it.
Most importantly, remember to keep the decorations simple, and use plain beachy colours to maintain the classy edge.
