Description

The Ceremony is the most important part of your day. It is the core of a Wedding - it sets the scene for the rest of your celebration! The choice of Celebrant is vast and perhaps a little daunting. I suggest you feel the right celebrant out and go with your instinct. Phone a few celebrants which appeal to you, and ask relevant questions such as: Do they have a powerful portable PA system? Are they flexible with ceremony content? Do they have an extensive resource kit? Do they have a personality which will compliment your style? And are they within your budget? The average fee charged by a civil celebrant for a standard ceremony within the Sydney is $550. I strongly advise against simply choosing the cheapest celebrant, chances are they could be catering for the cheap end of the market, maybe doing too many, and not giving clients the time and attention needed, or they may be hobbyists or inexperienced.

A Celebrant is also a good option for couples who don't have particularly strong religious practices. A celebrant, however, does not come from any standpoint of belief or unbelief. Using a civil celebrant is an unbiased way of tying the knot, they should be accommodating and willing to incorporate religious passages and traditions from all cultures. Quite often I come across couples who have agreed upon a compromise to have a civil ceremony but still include some religious content. I encourage this, as it is a great way to appease both families and mesh the two together. With Australia being such a multicultural society, cross cultural and interfaith marriages are very common. 60% of all Marriages within Australia are officiated by Civil Marriage Celebrants.

Unlike Religious Ceremonies, a civil ceremony is all about you, the focus of the whole moment is shining on the both of you alone.

There are many choices to make before you can compose the exact ceremony which will emulate your lifestyle, love and personalities. It is alot of fun and the creative sequencing and style is endlessly diverse.

A great celebrant will give you the choice of ceremony length. You can include poems, readings, music, or cultural symbols or rituals. Family and friends may participate in the ceremony including children.

The venue for the ceremony is limited only by your imagination. Please contact me for my services and fees.

Association membership usually indicates that the celebrant has the opportunity to keep up to date with current knowledge and practice related to celebrancy, and more likely to have back-up and support if the celebrant unable to proceed with his or her commitment to you due to an emergency or ill health.
