It is a common concern that touching a butterfly will damage their wings causing the butterfly to no longer being able to fly or to cause it to die. This is, in fact, false and given the opportunity most butterflies can be gently handled without harming them. The Monarch butterfly, which is a very graceful flying butterfly, is also a friendly butterfly and are not afraid of humans. Quite often when they are released at special occasions they will come to settle on close-by people – an amazing experience!
